Structural Makeup Bipol is composed of strong rot-resistant reinforcing base (glass fabric or fiberglass scrim) coated on both sides with high-quality polymer-bitumen binder. On the back side Bipol is surfaced with thermofusible polymer film, on the upperside – either smooth film or coarse mineral granules. Product Modifications The product comes surfaced with either smooth polymeric film (for waterproofing and underlayment of roof membrane) or coarse mineral granules (for cap sheets of roof membrane). It is recommended to lay Bipol over primed concrete deck or cement-sand screed. Bipol is heat-applied over prepared substrate with propane torch. Scope of Application Bipol is designed for application in low-slope roofing membranes and waterproofing of foundations for different buildings and structures. Due to the outstanding adhesive properties of SBS-modified bitumen, Bipol may be torch-applied on virtually any type of horizontal, slanting or vertical substrate made of non-flammable material (cement-sand screed, mineral fiber board etc.) For installation and repair of flashings and other critical roofing joints it is recommended to use polymer-modified bitumen materials Technoelast and Uniflex manufactured by TechnoNICOL Company. This will greatly enhance dependability of the roofing membrane and prolong its lifetime.
